Theatre tour ‘a resounding success’

“The play was so cool - in fact it was the best play I ever saw in my life.” Michael P

Visible Fictions’ production of Jason and the Argonauts has been a resounding success with children and adults alike. In addition to touring the show to WebPlay schools, for the first time this year we were able to invite non-WebPlay schools to see the performances, many of which sold out.

“ Jason and the Argonauts was a fantastic show which appealed to all of our students because of its excitement and humour;” said Jon Williams, WebPlay’s Website Manager and one of our workshop leaders. “It also appealed to the teachers because Greek Myths are on the curriculum this year.”

WebPlay workshop leader Ben Redfern was in the unique position of delivering workshops in both the UK and the US this year. He told us that the workshops were well received in both countries:

“The post show workshop was such fun. What was great to experience was the fact that children are children wherever you go in the world; they want to have fun, be entertained and really get behind their Webplay projects, leaving the theatre excited and inspired, regardless which side of the Atlantic they live!”

Thanks to everyone who came to our Gala performances in London and LA. We are particularly grateful to everyone who made donations to support our work. Many children brought their parents back to see the Gala after having seen the show with their school. The Gala performances are an important opportunity for us to showcase WebPlay to a much wider audience and provide much needed additional funding and we were thrilled that they were so well attended this year.

“I really liked the play. It had lots of wild monsters. What I liked the best was the sound effects because it was amazing.” Primitivo M

“It was like comedy and adventure at the same time.” Jason S
