WebPlay is a hit in India

Our six week pilot programme partnering schools in Bangalore and Harrow has come to an end and we have begun collating views from teachers and pupils to help us evaluate its effectiveness. Initial views are that it was well received.

The children in India and in England were all thrilled to be part of the programme. “[we] never realised how the weeks just flew off” wrote Rathy Sasikumar, a teacher at KVS School in Bangalore. They were particularly excited by the opportunity to trial communications with their partner schools via webcam technology and instant messaging. We hear that the children in India loved learning about the London Eye, Big Ben, Tower Bridge and - most especially - the snow.

Teachers have already told us that WebPlay India has helped support curriculum learning, improve speaking and listening skills and was a great tool for creating international partnerships. We hope to soon share with you the full results of our evaluation of this exciting project.
